solve this "lai bin woo kwui" problem

"lai bin woo kwui": The English translation of the Hokkien dialect, literally, "There is a ghost inside!"

Are you a frequent commuter of bus? If you are, you may likely encounter this problem: the commuters of a packed or half-packed bus are reluctant to move to the rear of the bus? How would you solve the problem?

I gave this problem to my students in the problem solving class I teach.

can you tell a story?

Our polytechnic is preparing for the BIG event: NP50 Anniversary - 50 LONG years of nurturing students! Some of our colleagues and students are really busy these days as they are seeding ideas for NP50.

I am not idling either though I am not involved in any of the committees - only in thought that is. I have been wondering: What if you were tasked to produce an NP50 book to commemorate the event, what should you include in the book? What is your approach? Should you tell a story or you would present the facts?

work-based learning

As we know, co-operative education provides a means for students to acquire practical work experience while pursuing their studies.

The idea sounds good. The challenge is to make it work and sustain it.

new problem-based learning

I love problem-based learning just like I will always advocate object-oriented program design.

Experience has taught me, however, that applying only one technique or approach or executing it in its purest form, and hoping to see the fruits may turn out to be a disappointment, if not most of the time.

brainstorm within framework

We are all familiar with brainstorming but do we know how to brainstorm for ideas systematically? I guess most of us will surely utter that we do know the process, the tool and techniques. Personally, I prefer to brainstorm within a framework that I will conceive from the very outset of the brainstorming session.
